So, there are four kinds of people in Athens.

1) People that when they see a stray dog they go running to it to tease and play with it.

2)People that when they see one, leave a small comment like, aw what a sweet dog but generally don't give a shit.

3) People that run scared or disgussed because stray dogs are usually big and dirty.

4) People that start kicking and scream at them because "they ruin the image of their magnificent and glorious Athens" which obviously deserves their big useless asses to walk around but not the poor dogs.

This dog seemed to have met more of the 4th kind, and it was quite difficult to even approach it. But when it seemed to understand the kind of people my friends and I are, it showed it playful and kinda-funny-kinda-stupid self.

Frank Miller wrote: "This rotten city. It kills everything. And what it doesn't kill, it devours". OK, Athens is not as bad as Sin City but that's how one can express the way it supresses people's talents, abilities and specialities by making them a part of the mass and facing them abruptly when it does not understand them.

oh yeah, dogs too...

It's amazing just how at first sight the picture seems like a common (yet lovely) shot of an owner with her dog and how after reading your description it means so much more and is such a deep thing that you guys managed to transfer succesfully...

Really good shot.
In Finland we don't have actually stray dogs, not as we see them, so the number is very low. But some issue is summer cats. People take kitties when they go example like summer house, and when the fall comes, they leave, abandon and dump cats. Insane fucking persons.
